He asked Him in to dine,
And treated Him right royally
For just a little time.
 
But then the young man’s ardour dimmed;
His love began to wane;
He soon forgot that Christ was there,
And sought for earthly gain.
 
Thus did the young man relegate
The Christ to second place,
